Gypsy Soul is Brisbane’s favorite way to a foot-stomping, hand-clapping good time. Gorgeous costumes, heart thumping choreography and music that you just can’t sit still to have made this troupe the talking-point of many a festival and show throughout the region. The dancing style is inspired by the Romani (Gypsy) cultures throughout the world including Turkish, Spanish, Balkan, Latin American and Indian Gypsy traditions.

Margaret, director of the troupe, has researched and traveled extensively in order to distil the essence and spirit of Romani dance. Visiting Roma communities of Turkey, the Balkans and Egypt has helped her create a respectful and beautiful dance style which she has named “Ozencia” and is the style so vibrantly presented by the troupe, Gypsy Soul.

The troupe is available for community festivals, private functions, women’s groups and parties and can provide mini one-off workshops, full performances or both at your function. Solo dancers or any number up to 8 are available.
